The documents and articles linked at the bottom of this article outline the standard check-in process for animals and how to setup/use RFID integration with the check-in process.
However, there are a couple of quick "shortcuts" that can be used to check in exhibits that do not have animal information included (Bulk Check-in) and for animal exhibits that do not require additional check-in information like weight (Will Show Bulk Updater).
Bulk Check-in for Static Entries (for one exhibitor at a time)
Entries that do not contain animal information can be checked in quickly using the Bulk Check-in option. To check-in entries for one exhibitor, begin by entering the exhibitor's name in the Check-in Search box. Once you have the exhibitor's list of entries on screen, check the box beside the ones that have been brought to the fair, and then click "Check in Selected". Please note this is ONLY available for non-animal entries, although all of the exhibitor's entries will be listed, both animal and static.
Will Show Bulk Updater (for all entries within one part of the hierarchy, like Showmanship)
At check-in, entries are marked as "will show" -- that designation is what allows them to be available for class breaks and for show programs. If you do not need to check in each entry individually (entering weight or other check-in information), you can quickly mark a whole group of entries into a division/class as "will show" using the Show menu, Will Show Bulk Updater tab. This is particularly useful for checking in Showmanship entries, when they do not contain animal information. Please note that like the exhibitor static check in described above, this is not appropriate for animal entries where check-in information (weight) must be entered, or tags verified.
- On the Show menu, click on the Will Show Bulk Updater tab.
- Select the portion of the hierarchy that contains the entries to be updated.
- Click the appropriate entries in the list, or use Select All.
- Click the blue button to Mark Selected as Will Show.
- If an entry is marked as "will show" in error (they are not showing), you can select that entry and use the red button to Mark Selected as Will NOT Show.
