There are two ways to accomplish setting the sale commission to only be based on the Sale/Bid Price, not including the Add-ons. The first one could be configured before the sale, and the second would be used after the sale bids are recorded.
- Set the commission on the Sale Order to be the percentage you want taken from the Sale Price. Be sure you do NOT check the option to include Add-ons. This would be set up prior to recording bids at the sale.
- The other option is to do a bulk adjustment rather than setting a percentage for commission on the sale order. It would be setup as a Sellers Fee, and set to be a Percent of the Sale Price. Those settings would not take the commission from the add-ons for the sale entries, or for donations made that shouldn't be subject to commission.
If you use this option, you need to wait until after you have recorded the bids for all of the entries before you add the Bulk Adjustment. The adjustment is based on what is in the system at the time it is applied. So if you do it before bids are recorded, any percentage multiplied by 0 (current sale price) is still zero.
Note: this option can be used in the case that there are items that are "exempted" from the commission fee for some reason. In that case you would just un-check that item when you are applying the bulk adjustment. You would not use the commission option, using the bulk adjustment method instead (using either Percent of Sale Price or Percent of Total Amount depending on whether you want Add-ons included), then find and uncheck the item(s) that are not to be charged the commission fee.
