Animals created in FairEntry
If an exhibitor is attempting to add a new animal to an entry (not imported from 4-H Online) and the animal type drop-down is empty, it is probable that there is not an animal type associated with that division.
Note: Animal types must be re-assigned to the appropriate division(s) each year, after your hierarchy is copied to the new year's fair. Those assignments do not copy over with the hierarchy.
To fix the issue, from a Fair Administrator or Organizational Administrator account, click on the Hierarchy tab and select the Division. On the Hierarchy Editor tab, select the Animal Type(s) that are available for that division. Once an Animal Type is selected for the Division, it will be available for exhibitors to add new animals.
Animals from 4-H Online
The exhibitor's animals from 4-H Online are not listed when they try to add the animal to an entry, or the drop-down animal type selection box is empty.
Test 1: Check the Division settings from the Hierarchy tab. Under Hierarchy Editor, be sure an Animal Type is selected. Add the Animal Type if one is not selected (as above).
Test 2: If the division has an appropriate Animal Type assigned, the issue probably exists in 4-H Online. The family or 4-H Online manager should log in to the family 4-H Online account and make sure the animals associated with the member are Active.
