You may find that something needs to be changed about how your premiums are paid after you have already entered results for your show. In most cases, that won't cause a problem, but changing Awards setup after entries have been assigned Awards can be tricky. Naturally, having the Awards all set up before the show results are entered is the best way to go about this, but sometimes things happen.
You cannot make changes to premiums if your Budget is finalized.
- If your budget has been finalized, click the Reset button to open it back up again.
- If you cannot Reset because you have generated a set of checks, first void the check set, and then Reset the budget. Click View beside the set of checks, and then select Void this set of checks.
Update your Ribbons and/or Placings Premium setup, and when you finalize the budget (and print checks), the new settings will apply.
Ribbon and Placing Premiums
- Using the Hierarchy menu, locate and select the portion of the hierarchy where changes need to be made.
- Using the Points and Premiums tab, make changes to the premium setup as necessary. Using the Class Results sections for the first set of results given to an entry; the Division Results sections for the second set of results.
- If the setup shows as "Inherited", you must either go to the location (shown in the message) where the setup was entered, or you can "make an exception" for this portion of the hierarchy by selecting "Override".
- After you select Override (or when you are changing the original setup), you must click the Edit button before you can make changes. Click Save when finished.
- If your setup shows "Overridden", but you want to return the setup to the original values, use the Reset option. That will apply the values that were entered at a higher level of the hierarchy. Be sure to Save whenever prompted.
- If the setup shows as "Inherited", you must either go to the location (shown in the message) where the setup was entered, or you can "make an exception" for this portion of the hierarchy by selecting "Override".

Awards are Trickier
If you add a new award, or edit an existing award, any records that already contain an award will be difficult to edit.
- It will save you a lot of time and frustration if you are proactive and remove awards from entries that will be affected by the change in the award, or by the new award that you added. You can add them back in after the changes have been made to the award setup.
If it's too late for that, and you now have records that can't have the awards changed or added, here's the method for getting them going again:
- Go into the Division (or Class) Results By Hierarchy - If it's a Class Award (first judging result), use Class Results by Hierarchy. If it's a Division Award (second judging result), use Division Results By Hierarchy.
- Add any award *EXCEPT the correct one* to the entries in question (you will be removing it so any incorrect award will do).
- Go into Results By Entry - enter the entry number - Edit Results.
- Remove previously added award (step 2), and add the correct award.
- Save
You will need to do this for each entry with an incorrect award.
