Tips for Using Class Fields in Reports

FairEntry Support Team -

There are several fields related to the class level in reports. If your fair is using subclasses or show classes, these will be very important.

Scenario 1: Class only - Every Entry has a Department, Division and Class

  • Entry: Parent Class = Not populated (empty)
  • Entry: Class = Original Class Name
  • Entry: Show Class = Original Class Name (same as Entry: Class)

Scenario 2: Classes were broken in to smaller classes using the Class Breaks tool - Each entry has a Department, Division, Class and Show Class

  • Entry: Parent Class = Not populated (empty)
  • Entry: Class = Original Class Name
  • Entry: Show Class = Broken Class Name

Scenario 3: Subclasses were added to Classes using the Hierarchy Editor - Each entry has a Department, Division, Class and Subclass

  • Entry: Parent Class = Original Class Name
  • Entry: Class = Subclass Name
  • Entry: Show Class = Subclass Name (Same as Entry: Class)

Scenario 4: Subclasses were added using the Hierarchy Editor and then broken using Class Breaks

  • Entry: Parent Class = Original Class Name
  • Entry: Class = Subclass Name
  • Entry: Show Class = Broken Class Name

NOTE: Each fair may use a different scenario for different Departments, Divisions and Classes.
